Overview

Located in the heart of Florence, South Carolina, Percy & Willies stands as a proud bastion of traditional American fare, blending honest flavors with a welcoming atmosphere. This establishment offers a genuine dining experience centered around wood-grilled steaks, fresh-baked croissants, and hearty classics that resonate with both locals and travelers seeking authentic regional cuisine.

Walking into Percy & Willies, diners are met with a warm and inviting space that balances casual comfort with attentive service. The staff’s professionalism, often masked yet ever friendly, contributes to a relaxed environment ideal for families, small groups, or solo diners looking for quality without pretense. Its location at 130 Dunbarton Drive makes it a destination worth the drive for those exploring Florence and beyond.

The menu embodies traditional American staples elevated through thoughtful preparation. Signature items like the honey-glazed croissants set the tone—light, buttery, and softly toasted rather than overly browned, they pair perfectly with the house-made honey butter. Starters such as the beer-battered fried mushrooms offer a crispy, charred flavor indicative of their open wood fire or charcoal cooking method, lending a distinct smoky undertone appreciated by patrons.

Steak lovers will find delight in the marinated Ribeye and prime rib offerings, showcased by their deep, wood-grilled char and tenderness that needs no additional sauce. The steak salad, loaded with grilled meat and complemented by a variety of homemade dressings, provides a balanced and hearty option without overwhelming the palate.

The salads, including the house and Caesar varieties, come with carefully crafted dressings that can be adjusted on request, reflecting the restaurant’s accommodation of personal preferences without compromising flavor profiles. The inclusion of SouthernBrewed Tetley Sweet Tea alongside classic soft beverages grounds the drink menu in local tradition while offering refreshing nonalcoholic options like the Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri and Percy's Punch.

Another highlight is the dessert selection, with the carrot cake standing out as a beloved finish to many meals. Its rich yet balanced sweetness makes for a satisfying end that complements the savory dishes preceding it.

While the kitchen’s occasional mix-up with large parties may occur, the overall consistency and quality of food, coupled with a genuine hospitality ethos, position Percy & Willies as a must-visit for those craving classic American dining with a Southern twist. Whether you seek a quiet dinner or a shared meal with friends, the restaurant’s offerings ensure an experience rooted in tradition, comfort, and well-executed homestyle cooking.

First time in Florence and we had a great evening at Percy & Willies! The croissants were delicious, the honey butter was spot on and the croissants were just baked enough for our liking. Note: these are not baked to the dark golden brown you see and expect from the store or local bakery. We enjoyed the beer battered mushrooms before our meal too. The prime rib is a must have and the house dressing is very enjoyable. You may want to ask for the house dressing on the side if you like a mild level of dressing on your salad. Stop by and enjoy!

I had the steak salad and it was incredible! The steak is wood grilled, a variety of homemade dressings available! The croissant appetizer are homemade with a honey butter drizzle. Almost every table in the restaurant had an order on their table. Friendly, professional staff, all wearing masks including the chefs

Our hotel's front desk clerk recommended Percy & Willie's when I asked for a non chain restaurant and telling her I was willing to drive to it. I am so glad she told me about it. I hadn't come across it in my Google search. Excellent service and amazing food! I had the marinated Ribeye and my husband had the prime rib. Neither of us needed steak sauce. That really speaks volumes to me! We got the carrot cake to go. It was delicious!

Went to this restaurant while on vacation. Very good food. Only 4 stars because they kept mixing and messing up our orders. But we did have a party of 14 or 15. Great steaks!!!

Amazing food and plenty of great options to choose from. Friendly helpful staff and usually isn't to packed. The honey croissants are to die for. The food is either cooked over an open wood fire or charcoal can not remember but you get that charred taste and if that isn't for you you may need to try another place or just read them menu carefully so you don't order something charred.

My wife has been ranting and razing about this restaurant in town. On our Friday night out she insisted we go together and I am happy I did. Upon arrival people were all around the entrance. I was afraid the wait would be too long. We decided to stay in the car for the first part of our 45 minute wait. We found out once we were inside, it was prom night. So, this was the place to be. Everything we ordered off the menu was good. My only regret was not ordering their most popular steak which my wife ordered.
